Stars take Turtle Islanders Invitational

Toronto Stars went on a 4 goal third period run to put away the Arthur Aces in the final of the Turtle Islanders Invitational Sunday afternoon at the Leisureplex in Fort Erie.

Brianna Trembley and Katie Thomson scored for the Stars in the 1st and 2nd, but the game was broken open in the 3rd with a pair of powerplay goals from Lisa Mullen and singles from Meaghan Boyle and Sandra Gaborska.  The final score was 6-0 for the Stars.

In semi-final action, Toronto downed Niagara 5-2 while Arthur surprised Whitby 3-1.  In the Consolation final Grand River defeated Hamilton 6-1.
