Rush take Becky Smith Memorial

Marissa Kosovski scored midway through the 3rd to break a tense 2-2 tie and send the Whitby Rush to victory in the final of the 2016 Becky Smith Memorial Tournament this afternoon in Hagarsville.  After staking the undefeated Arthur Aces to a 2-0 first period lead on goals by Shawna Terpstra and Becca Hostrawser, Hillary Quintrill halved the lead at 5:24 of the first.  After a scoreless 2nd period, Jaimie Wright tied it for the Rush early in the third setting up Kosovki's winner at 7:30.

Another successful tournament for the Grand River hosts, to conclude the tournament portion of the schedule.  Regular season games resume next Saturday, July 16th, with Game Days in Arthur and Oshawa.
