2016 OWBLL Champions!

Toronto Stars defeated the Akwesasne Warriors 6-3 to win the 2016 Ontario Women's Box Lacrosse League Provincial Championship Sunday afternoon at Whitby's Iroquois Park.

Toronto took first place in the round-robin portion of the tournament and dispactched the Grand River Attack 3-0 in the first semi-final.  In the second semi-final, Akwesasne needed overtime to eliminate the Arthur Aces 3-1.

The Championship game was a hard fought affair with the Stars jumping out to an early lead and never falling behind. Akwesasne pressed often througout the game, but Toronto's defense held firm until their transition game took over with timely goals to put the game away.
