TORONTO, ON – August 17th, 2019 – Heading into the final day of the Ontario Women’s Box Lacrosse League (OWBLL) Provincial Championship, the 2019 regular season champion Arthur Aces will play against the surging Clarington Gaels while the defending 2018 provincial champion Grand River Attack are set to take on the Hamilton Lady Bengals. The ten-team league, now in its 12th season of operation, played its final tournament-format weekend yesterday and today in both Hamilton and Hagersville. The teams were divided into two pools based on their regular season performance, with the teams for tomorrow’s semi-final games requiring the OLA’s mathematical tiebreaker format to settle the standings.
Following the final round robin game of the weekend, OWBLL players, team personnel, families and friends were invited to a league-hosted banquet at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena to celebrate the season. The banquet included awards to recognize each team’s MVP, the league’s leading scorers and the 2019 OWBLL All-Star Team.
